Having only just come back into the fancy it has taken some serious thought on concerning what breed of pigeons to race. In the past I have had some good success with Janssen's, Van Den Bosch, Van Loon's, Staf Van Reet's.
The final conclusion was to go with Staf Van Reet's. Having bought and loaned some birds to breed off in 2012, which were based on the old Tony Mardon Van Reets, I managed to get a race-team together and joined the Lonsdale club in Preston.
This new team performed well, managing to score a good few top five places and a couple of wins, not too bad for a first seasons comeback.
With success under my belt the search continued for more Tony Mardon based Staf Van Reet's. Every avenue tried kept coming up with one name, Mark Caudwell. As luck would have it I bought a few birds bred by Mark Caudwell, from other sources. I was immediately impressed.
So I decided to take the plunge and go to Mark directly. Mark has been more than helpful with my quest to amass a team of top quality stock birds, needless to say, no expense has been spared. As a result my Stock Team is the largest of direct Caudwell sons and daughters all from Mark's Champion pigeons, except for Mark's very own Stock Team.
